10. Can I buy a cap on a Standard Variable Rate (SVR)?

No.  Caps are generally traded only against market interest rate benchmarks such as Base Rate or SONIA.  Each lender quotes its own individual SVR without a formal connection to Base Rate or SONIA.  As a result, caps referenced to SVR are not actively traded.
